I was honored to speak at TreePeople's Generation Earth Environmental Youth Summit on April 11th. TreePeople is one of the largest environmental organizations in Southern California, having inspired and engaged more than 3 million people to plant and care for trees in forests, mountains, parks, and neighborhoods. It is also the organization that first introduced me to working with native plants.
So I was especially grateful for the full-circle moment that allowed me to speak to over 200 students who gathered at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles to dive deeper into environmental topics. I talked about what it means to love the natural world right where we live and how best to serve it with integrity. The students were passionate, dedicated, and inspiring, and the time with them will linger with me as a beautiful memory.
